A Variety of Crocheted Goodies

Hello crochet friends!  Hope you’ve all had a good week so far…and that it continues right on through the weekend. I was at my daughter’s house for five days.  Puppy/house sitting, and came back home last evening.  While at her place I got a good bit of crocheting done, and thought I’d share.

First up are these two doilies. On the ecru one I used a charted pattern for the first six or so rows, and then made up the rest myself.  The pastel variegated one is totally my own doing.

I put edgings around two receiving blankets.  These will probably be used as a gift.

I also made this small baby blanket, or it could be used as a doll blanket. The yarn was given to me a while back, and I decided this was a good thing to do with it.  Thank you to the person who gave it to me.  You know who you are. <smile>

Last, but not least, I would like to share my branches with you.  I did this project a couple weeks ago, but am just now getting around to sharing the pics. I had a lot of fun with this…choosing the branches and crocheting the leaves.  I just used hot glue to put them onto the branches.  I bought the little birds and bird nest at Michaels.  Also the colored glass stones that are in the vase.  The vase is a Good Will find. The filet piece underneath it all is one I got at a flea market when Rick and I were on vacation a few weeks ago.  I rescued it for fifty cents!

Well, I hear it thundering once again. I need to go hop in the shower now, in case the electric goes out.  We’ve been having some nasty storms the past week or so.  My son had a maple tree come down in his yard, and has been working at getting it cut up.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

Small Doilies

Thought I’d share a couple more doilies with you.  These started out as quite small, and then I am having fun adding to them to see what I can come up with.

This is what the pattern was for…

…and then I added to it, to make it look like this.

And here we have what this one was supposed to look like…

…and I turned it into this.  (Yes, I already showed you this one in a previous post, but thought I’d show what it was supposed to look like first.)

And here is my latest one. (These next pics are smaller in size.  I took them with my tablet instead of my camera, and apparently that is what made the difference.) Again…what it is supposed to look like…

…and what it looks like after I added about 6 more rows to it.

I’m having fun playing around with these. As always, thanks for looking, and I hope you have a great day!

Back from Vacation!

Rick and I went on a vacation last week…Tuesday-Friday.  I have been wanting to do a post since we got back, and am finally getting around to it.  I did post about the pattern help yesterday, and I appreciate all those who tried to help. Thought I’d share with you these pretties that I got at a flea market last week. They’re all small items, even though they look big in the pics. These all cost me a dollar each.

This little beauty is setting on my kitchen table, making itself useful by holding packets of sugar and Splenda. It matches my new kitchen d├ęcor perfectly!

This little doily is one I whipped up yesterday.  The first 5 rows are a charted pattern, and then I added the rest to make it a small doily.

And now for a few vacation photos.  We went up the coast of Ohio, and also went to Michigan to the Henry Ford Museum.  We were a bit disappointed with most of the lighthouses.  They aren’t kept up very well, IMHO, but this one I am showing was kept up very nicely.  It is Marblehead lighthouse. That is me standing there in front of it.

And here I am sitting in an old airplane seat at the Henry Ford Museum.

I took 1130 pics on vacation, but will only bore you with the few I have just posted.  LOL  Thanks for visiting my blog!!

Looking for Pattern ~ Help Appreciated

Hello Friends!  I will be posting some more later, but for now wanted to ask for help.  My husband’s aunt is working on a corner to corner, rectangular afghan, in a dc shell stitch pattern.  She is 1/2 way through and can’t remember how to do the decrease rows.  I have never made one, but I told her I’d look online and see if I could find her some help.  I am not coming up with much, other than square ones, online so thought I’d reach out to my blogging friends to see if any of you might be able to help. I will appreciate your help, and I know she will as she only has another month to get the afghan finished. Thanks!!!
