Looking Back and Happy New Year!

All throughout the year I work on my digital pages for my yearly Memories photo book.  I recently finished the last of my pages, which are my crochet pages.  I like to do collages of my crocheted things, and add them in at the back of the book.  Thought I’d share my pages with you. There are some crocheted items not shown as I forgot to get pics of them before I gave them away as gifts.  lol  Last night I told my husband that when I see these pages, I think I realize why my house is so dusty.  *grin*

Merry Christmas!

Hello friends!  I realize it has been a month since I have posted, but never fear for I am here!  lol  I’ve been busy doing lots of crocheting, but believe it or not I forgot to take pics of some of the things before I wrapped them for Christmas presents!  Oopsie!  Perhaps I’ll get some pics after Christmas of the gifts and their recipients. I do have one little ditty to share with you…my spaghetti and meatballs! I made a few things for the grandkids to play with in their playroom, and this is one of them.  I also made ravioli, and jars of mayo and jam (or whatever their imagination wants the jars to be). Forgot to take pics of those things though. I didn’t use a pattern for these food items, just set my hook to flying and this is what I came up with.

I sent out a few Christmas cards this year, and the following is the Christmas letter I enclosed with them.  Short and sweet and to the point.

And here are a couple pics of my precious grandchildren.  These were taken on Thanksgiving Day. They are 7, 5 and the littlest one will be 2 on Christmas Eve.

Lots of Crocheting

Happy Friday, crocheting friends!  Hope you have all had a good week, and here’s wishing you a good weekend ahead.  I’ve been keeping busy making hats for an order I got, and am happy to say they’re ready for delivery! :)

The other things I have made recently are these two diaper cover/hat sets, and two crochet edged receiving blankets.  They’re for an upcoming baby shower I will be attending.

My Room

Since I took over my son’s room after he moved out, I have been slowly making it look like my own room.  Here are a couple of the things I did recently. He had a bulletin board in there, that wasn’t looking too great.  Here is a picture of the before.

And here it is after I covered it in some pretty fabric. I have since pinned some things onto it, but don’t have an up-to-date pic of it.

I made my own custom pushpins. I glued a flower bead to the head of the pin.  Love them!

These wall hangings were made from some embroidered squares that I found in my mom’s things, after she passed away.  It took me a while to decide what to do with them, and this is what I decided on.  The wooden hoops and lace were also among her things.

More Hats & Thrift Shop Finds

Hello all, and happy Monday to you!  Hope your week is off to a great start!  All is well here.  I am on my last day of an antibiotic for a sinus infection and bronchitis.  Still coughing and blowing, but feeling better than I had been.  Whew!

I’ve been busy making hats.  A friend of a friend wanted a Mickey and Minnie hat for her twins’ first birthdays.  This is what I came up with.  Hope she likes them! This was the first time I put braids on a hat.  Can’t really say that I enjoyed the process.  LOL

My daughter wanted a John Deere hat made for Lawson, since he has a cute JD jacket.  Well, you know me, I can’t make a hat for one grandson and not the other.  Next up will be a pink JD hat for Miss Adelyn. This picture is of my husband, Clayton and Lawson.  I was acting like a doofus behind the camera trying to get Lawson to smile.  Seems to have worked on the other two as well.  LOL

Now for some thrift store finds from last week.

I absolutely love vases, and couldn’t resist this pretty flowered one. I got it for 79 cents.

I also have a thing for pink lately, and I thought this plate was pretty.  Turned out it was half off, so I got it for a quarter.  This plate, and the above vase, I got at the new Salvation Army store.

These next goodies were more expensive as I got them at Good Will.  Our Good Will store does not have cheap prices, compared to a lot of GW stores. I thought this would make a pretty vase.

And this would, too.

Last, but not least, this pretty pitcher.  Love it!

Hats….and a Doily

Hello all!  Hope this finds your week off to a great start!  All is well here.  Thought I’d share the hats I’ve been working on.  The three girly ones went to my granddaughter today, and I made each of the boys a “woodsy” colored one. The pics aren’t the greatest as the lighting hasn’t been the greatest. But without further ado…here are the hats!

And here is Lawson wearing his when it was time for him to go home today.  He did not want it on.  LOL

And here is the doily.  The pattern was the middle blue part, and then I continued on with the rest by myself.  Fun!

2014 Nature Photo Book

I’ve been getting lots of crocheting done lately (which I will share with you once I take pictures), and the digital layouts for my nature photo book is another thing I’ve been keeping busy with. Rick’s on 12 hour shifts, so that means when he is home he needs to sleep…therefore I try to be as quiet as possible.  Crocheting and working on digital layouts keeps me quiet!  LOL  Here are the pages that will be in my 8x8 photo book, once I get it printed.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have a great week!!
