Long Time, No See!

Hello All!  Hope this finds you all doing well, and enjoying the season.  Summer starts tomorrow, although we've had summer weather for quite a while.  Personally, I'll be glad when fall comes back around.  I prefer it over summer by a long shot.  I don't handle the heat and humidity well at all.

What all have you been keeping busy with?  I've been enjoying my family and my crocheting.  I took a few weeks break from crocheting after Easter as I took quite a fall and my left elbow was painful for weeks.  It is actually still sore, but over all I am doing so much better.  We had gone outside to hide the Easter eggs, and I tripped over a stake after only hiding one egg.  I fell splat onto a slab of cement.  Rick thinks I must have went into shock because I got up and walked a few steps before collapsing.  I was out for a couple minutes, and I guess my breathing sounded awful.  They called 911, but by the time the ambulance got here I had come to and was doing better. My vitals were fine so they didn't make me go to the hospital.  I got pretty well banged up though.  No broken bones, but bruised ones for sure. Anyhoo, I am back to crocheting now and doing lots of it.  :)

I made these two dresses for my granddaughter before Easter. She looked adorable in them!

I also made a bunch of dresses to put on my Oak Hill Crochet site. Only the white one sold.

Made these bags recently, and gifted the brown one to my great niece for her recent high school graduation.  Hope she likes it!  Pattern is from Snappy Tots.

I gave this bag to my granddaughter for her recent dance recital.  Pretty sure she loved it.  :)  It's a paid pattern from The Hat and I.  I strayed from the pattern and sewed my turtle onto the bag.

We had a sleepover this past weekend with the three older grandkids, and Miss Adelyn (Pictured above) told me she is glad I crochet.  Melt my heart, why don't ya?!  :)  <3

Good bye for now, and I hope to be posting before three more months pass by.  Enjoy your summer!

Essential Tote Bags

Hello all!  Sharing one of my latest projects with you...these essential tote bags I made last week.  Hoping to sell them on Oak Hill Crochet, but so far no takers.  Oh well, I had fun making them.  :)

I also made one of these cowls last week, and another one yesterday.  I don't have a pic of yesterday's though.  Quick and easy project and I am putting in my "gifts" box for future use.  :)

'Tis a gray and dreary day in my neck of the woods today.  I think it's a good day for crochet!  :D  Have a great day, everybody!

Hey there!  Long time, no see!  Thought I'd stop in and share some of the crocheted items I've been working on.  I like to keep busy with my crocheting.  :)  This first owl cocoon is available on my Oak Hill Crochet Facebook page.  I sold the blue owl cocoon last month.

I absolutely loved making these hats!  The pattern is from Snappy Tots, and it was really fun coming up with the different color combos.  These hats were donated to a good cause.

This next hat pattern was one I found on the Internet.  I changed it a bit to suit my personal taste, and added some buttons and/or beads for pretties.

Most recently I made these Swiffer-type covers using cotton yarn.  They're all for sale. So far I have sold one...the red/orange/yellow/white one.

Made this scarf a few weeks ago.  I love how it looks like it is knitted!

A pretty cowl I made.  No pattern. Just did my own thing.

Two more hats.  This pattern is also one of Snappy Tot's pattern.  I love her patterns!

I've made other things, too, but figured I'd just share a sampling. Thanks for stopping by, and please leave a comment so I know you were here.  Even if it's just to say "hi", it would be much appreciated.  I'm seriously thinking about quitting this blog as it seems that there isn't much interest in it.

It's a......

GIRL!!!!
My son and his wife had their baby on October 26th.  Kendall is a little sweetie pie, and as you can imagine has stolen my heart...along with my other three grandchildren.  :)  <3

On a sad note, a cousin of mine was found dead the morning of October 17th.  She was only 42.  I haven't heard yet as to what the cause of death was.  I was all set to send her a big order of crocheted goodies the next day!  I will share pics of those goodies with you here, so you can see some of what I've been up to.

These first two sets had already been sent to her a couple weeks before she passed. She was so tickled with the things, and ordered more things....things she never got to enjoy.  :(

This set she ordered for her sister.  I went ahead and sent it to her sister, free of charge, and told her to consider it a gift from Cathy and me.

These next items are some I didn't get to send her, but I know she would have loved.  I'm trying to sell them on Oak Hill Crochet, but people just aren't buying.  No surprise there.  Well, my aunt recently ordered a scarf.  Other than that, nothing, nada, zip.

I love this owl scarf.  It is supposed to be a super scarf, but I made it a regular scarf.  The pattern can be found at Repeat Crafter Me.

The following is the scarf I made for my aunt.  She asked for white with a red and black edging, and this is what I came up with.

I have made a bunch of hats for Kendall, but don't have any pics of them by themselves. I also made hats for some of my family members, but I don't have any pics of them.  I've definitely been keeping busy.  :)

Thanks for stopping by, and here's wishing you a great week ahead!

Beautiful Nature

My goodness, it's been a month since I posted.  Sure wish I knew where all these days are going.  lol  I'm finally back with some nature photos to share.  Enjoy!!

This doe and fawns visited our yard not too long ago. They were munching on fallen apples.

I absolutely love zinnias, and these beauties all came up from seeds I planted this year.  I recently did a photo shoot for my great niece with them.  She's a senior this year.  No pics of her to share, but I will share the zinnias.

Three weeks ago I had the pleasure of seeing grandbaby #4 in a 4D ultrasound.  Can hardly wait to meet him or her!

Thanks for visiting!!  :)

Has it Really Been Two Months?!

Hello all!  I can hardly believe it's been just a couple days shy of two months since I last posted to my blog.  A month maybe, but two?!  lol  Apparently the time is getting away from me.  Never fear!  I am here to share some of my crochet and some of my etcetera!  Let's get started, shall we?!

I've been trying to figure out what folks would like to buy from my Oak Hill Crochet page.  I've pretty much decided the answer to that is...nothing.  :(  But that doesn't stop me.  I'm still trying.  I'm thinking that maybe this fall and/or winter I'll be able to sell some things again.  I can hope. Here are a couple things I've recently posted. No interest in any of them, though.  I even tried having a sale where everything was $10 off.  No takers.  -sigh-

I've also done some birthday crochet recently.  I forgot to take pics of two of the water bottle holders, but I did remember to get a pic of the shark one I made for Clayton.

I made an appliqued washcloth for each grandchild.

I've made several things for the grandbaby due in October, but can't show you until after the baby shower in September. ;)

Now for some of the "etcetera".  I've always loved to color, and recently I've been doing a fair amount.  Do any of you enjoy coloring?  It seems to have become a "big thing" these days, but as I told Rick, I was coloring when coloring wasn't cool.  lol

This one is from a book of postcards I got myself for my birthday. I figure this way after I'm done coloring I have a pretty card to send to somebody. :)

And this next one is the first gray scale coloring I've done.  Not 100% happy with it, but not too shabby for a first attempt.

One last thing before I go.  Remember the 18 inch doll swimsuits I shared a while back?  Well, here are the dolls with their new suits!  :)  I think Adelyn and her friends were all happy to get one of these the day of Adelyn's 7th birthday party.

I shall close for now, but hope to be back soon with a nature photos post, so stay tuned!  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
